So it turns out that parkrun organisers enjoy April Fool’s Day more than most. Last year I enjoyed statuses on several of my local parkrun Facebook pages. This year I decided to see if there were any other parkrun event organisers who had also got their imaginative thinking caps on for Friday.
Here is what I found…!

Which is your favourite from the above?
Did your local parkrun take part?
What are some of the best April Fool’s Day pranks you’ve heard? (parkrun or otherwise)
I love these! I saw quite a few as I follow lots of the local parkruns on facebook. The gold/ silver/ bronze one confused me though as I could not work out which was the best one to go for (if it was real!). St Albans said they were aligning the dogs and under 11’s policies, so all under 11’s had to be kept on a lead.
I’ve seen one about the London marathon being cut short due to roadworks and that always gets a lot of people panicked before they realise the date!

All of the parkruns seemed to really go in for it this year which was lovely.
Missed the St Albans one!
I remember Anna spotting that one of the marathons last year had said they were extending the course and that made me laugh!
I love the llama!

That was one of my favourites!
This is brilliant – I hadn’t seen all of these! I have to admit when I first read the packages one I thought it was real until I was like “can they really do this??” and then realised… I’m quite gullible!
I saw a funny one for Manchester marathon about them moving the course to Birmingham as the weather was better there haha.

LOVE the Manchester marathon one! I missed that one!
nice blog. I see we are both on the top10 list of uk running blogs! Must try harder, I’m only 4th. both must try harder
Haha! Indeed! 😉
I absolutely love some of these, and glad to see my local (Killerton) made it on the list! Last year, they said we had to run it backwards. I think my favourite one is the Tesco barcode scanner.

I’m so glad that so many took part in AFD. It’s always more fun when a parkrun you have attended comes up with something.
I love these and am a bit disappointed we didn’t have one at my local parkrun! The llama run is definitely my favourite!
